ISO 14001 indicates that the organization has an internationally accepted management system, which instead of emphasizing the quality of production and development, focuses on various themes designed to reduce the organisation's environmental impact. and the ISO 14001 Standard used to determine certain restrictions and to promote effective management and mitigation strategies in various aspects of the Environment that may directly or indirectly harm the environment.
ISO 14000 standards are the product of an organization and compliance is voluntary.
However, one of the main objectives of the ISO 14001 standard is to ensure that businesses comply with applicable environmental laws. Businesses consider the implementation of ISO 14001 as a regulatory measure.
For helping organizations, the ISO 14001 standard improve their environmental performance through efficient resources and waste minimization, gaining competitive advantage and trust from stakeholders. Properly followed, ISO 14001 empowers organizations and communities to develop both environmental and environmental obligations.
If a company has an ISO 14001 Certification it means it has a strong environmental management system (EMS). Here consider the Environmental Aspects and environmental impacts, An environmental element is an organization's activities, products, or services that can interact with the environment. These may include drainage, excretion from the air, waste products and the use of natural resources and building materials. They occur throughout the life cycle of the products and services you offer and include your services or chain of delivery and your customers.
The ISO 14001 standard requires you to identify all environmental factors related to the activities of your organization and the products and services it provides. Typically, this is done by creating a list of activities and ISO 14001 processes such as the purchase of certain consumer goods and identifying each of these methods or which may have an impact on the environment - either positively or negatively.
The approach you use should also take into account potential environmental factors for the future due to planned or expected changes in your operations, products and services, use of supply chains and/or compliance ISO 14001 requirements.
When evaluating the results of other areas of work performed in compliance with ISO 14001 such as risk assessment, identification of legal requirements, identification of other compliance requirements. In addition to identifying the various ways in which your organization interacts with the environment (environmental factors), ISO 14001 also requires you to evaluate the impact each component has on the environment.
