Things To Ask Your Client Before Shooting The Wedding
Here are a few important questions that you should ask your clients before shooting the wedding ceremony.
• How much are you ready to pay?
The very first thing that you need to ask your clients is their budget for your wedding photography services. Though it can be a bit awkward to ask at the first meeting. However, you should know it because the budget would help you to understand whether you want to take up the photography project or not. You need to take into account several aspects right before finalizing the rate, including the questions mentioned below.
• The story of your first meeting:
When you know your clients, then it will be easier for you to understand what to expect on the D-Day. You should ask how the two met the first time, their love story, and many other related questions. Not to mention, having an honest, open discussion would allow you, as well as your clients, to know how the photography project would go for both of you. The straightforward talk is important to capture images with confidence on the day of the wedding.
• How many pictures do you need?
Apart from the ...
... budget, this is one of the most important questions that you should ask your client. The number of soft and hard copies of the pictures would even affect the budget. When you are aware of the budget, then you can easily share the probabilities of the quantity of both soft and hard copies to be offered. Though it is wise to offer manifold options to the bride and groom and let them decide.
• How many people are going to attend the wedding ceremony?
You need to aware of an approximate count of the invitees as this would help you to understand how much time you should distribute for the different pictures. You would even understand whether or not you require a second photographer. If you are going to cover a big fat wedding, then you can take help from an assistant. Let you know that it is always a great idea to make a deal with another professional wedding photographer to become your assistant. In return, you can help the photographer in his/her wedding photography project.
• What is your expectation from your wedding photographer?
When it comes to weddings, couples generally have diverse expectations from their wedding photographers. Though the answers that you receive would differ a lot from one client to another. Though this could be an unclear question, the answer that you get would tell you about what you should expect during the wedding ceremony. The couples might talk about their expectations of best in class pictures, latest ideas for poses, etc.
• What about the poses?
You need to talk about the pose ideas with your client. Some people put a load of research and thought into poses. During this session, you can come across the craziest ideas ever. But you should be patient enough and finalize a list. Try making a wedding photoshoot checklist, which covers all the popular poses.
Be sure that you ask your clients whether they have anything that they think you need to know. I recommend you to leave this discussion open-ended. Don’t forget to be open to what your clients’ expectations and wants are. In a nutshell, give your best shot to please your clients and you would find yourself getting success in the future.
