Recently Apple released the 10th update of WatchOS 6. They have named it the WatchOS 6.2.8, and there are speculations that the upcoming smartwatches by Apple will include this update. Last month, Apple launched WatchOS 6.2.6, which is a security update.

WatchOS 6.2.8 comes a month after the launch of watchOS 6.2.6, a security update. If you haven’t downloaded that security patch, then do it from the Apple Watch App. You have to find the software update option in the general section of the app. For installing this app, the Watch must have at least 50% battery, so you may have to charge it.

The same goes for its tenth version. The battery percentage should be 50% and follow the same steps for downloading the software update. In simple words, go to General>software update.

With this update, Apple has introduced a new feature in the Watch. Now, you can use your Apple Watch as the digital car key. It is a unique feature and also available on the iPhone with iOS 13.6. If you have misplaced the car keys of your NFC-enabled vehicle and have the Apple Watch with the latest update, then you can ...
... unlock it. NFC stands for Near-field communication which denotes contactless communication between you and your car.

BMW is one of Apple’s partners that can allow you to use the Watch as the car keys. You can share the keys with up to 5 other iPhone users.

You can use this feature in most of the BMW models, like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, X5, X6, X7, X5M, X6M, and Z4. The only condition is that these cars must be manufactured after the 1st of July 2020. The WatchOS 6.2.8 is available with the series 5 of the Apple Watch or newer version.

There is no new feature found in this update during the testing of the WatchOS 6.2.8 beta version. As per the official press release by Apple, the latest update features ECG support and heart rate notification if you are living in Brazil, Bahrain, and South Africa.

If you compile all the features of the WatchOS 6.2.8, here are some of the features of this update:

Notifications regarding irregular heart rate, which is available in Brazil, Bahrain, and South Africa.
Can use Watch with the digital car keys (Compatible with Series 5 and higher).
Works as the ECG app on ‌Apple Watch‌.
There might be chances that WatchOS 6.2.8 will be the last update by Apple for the ‌watchOS 6‌.
