Stair Climbing Is The Best Exercise To Tone Your Body

Going up several flights of stairs is a cardio exercise in itself. It also helps strengthen your core and tone your lower body. If you want to enhance this workout further at home, consider investing in a stair climber machine. This equipment simulates climbing an infinite number of steps on a flight of stairs. Benefits of stair climbers are similar to that of climbing real stairs, but with this equipment, you do not have to turn around, go down, and go back up again. This way, a stair climber workout is more convenient to do.
The stair climber provides a workout that is easier on the joints while strengthening the muscles on your bum and legs because climbing the stairs is a weight-bearing exercise. Repeating the step motion tones the lower body and works the core muscles simultaneously.
The speed of the machine is also adjustable to suit your needs, whether you want to do high-intensity interval training or a low-intensity and steady-state cardio. This makes a stair climber workout potentially suitable for every fitness ability or level. It will increase your heart rate, boost your stamina, and enhance your ...
... cardiovascular endurance.
A stair climber does not merely let you simulate climbing a flight of stairs. There are many more things you can do with it. Here are some suggestions to get you started with a stair climber workout:
Squats
Make sure your feet are shoulder-width apart and begin at a slow speed. Squat and spring up to the next stair, with your knees bent as you land. Touch the handrails lightly to maintain your balance.
Crossover steps
This stair climber workout should firm up and tone your bum. Step up with the right foot and place it where the left foot would typically land (crossing over). Then step up with the left foot and place it where the right foot would typically land, again crossing over. Keep your balance by maintaining your hands lightly on the handrails.
One step, two step
Climb one stair at a time to build or tone your quads, and two stairs at a time to work on your glutes and hamstrings. Try doing five sets to alternate between one and two steps for two minutes at a time. Increase the level for each set to boost the intensity.
