Food distributors assume a significant position when it comes to restaurants and manufacturers. They are often touted as the unsung heroes of the restaurant industry- it is not as simple as a food service operator calling up a food producer or factory to stock the shelves. There are different types of food distributors, each one promising unique benefits. Let’s take a look:

Broadline distributor: these serve as one-stop shops for restaurants and retailers who are looking to purchase a large number of items. Though they do not specialize in any specific type of product, they offer an efficient process without depending on multiple food distribution companies in Dubai. They offer a huge array of products to cater to the needs of food service operators. Based on the size and volume of goods they provide, they promise a number of advantages, including volume discounts, pricing incentives, and more dedicated support. However, this is not the preferred type of distributor for small operators as they won’t have much say in determining the nature of the products the distributors will keep.

Specialty ...
... distributor:
as the name suggests, these , these top food distribution companies specialize in the distribution of one specific product type or industry, and are very efficient within their niche. They operate exclusively within a particular industry.

Redistributor:as opposed to broadline and specialty distributors, redistributors do not sell directly to food service operators. On the contrary, they purchase directly from manufacturers, but team up with smaller scale distributors to provide less than truckload shipments. When it comes to the food logistics space, all food distributors do not enjoy the scale or client base that allows them to operate solely in bulk quantities. A significant part of these small distributors serve independent, non-chain food service operators that are too small to work with broadline distributors.

Cash and carry: this type of distributor is unique as this is the only type that does not transport products directly to food service operators. Instead, food service operators go to a cash and carry warehouse and chose wholesale products to purchase.
