Facebook Gaming Vs Twitch: Which Is More Popular & Better?

With the shutting down of Mixer by Microsoft, now the focus is onTwitch and Facebook. However, which one is better?
Now, the live streaming market of the video game is left with two contenders: Twitch and Facebook Gaming. It is a good time to compare the two services and features to decide which one is better. Both online games streaming services offer somewhat similar gaming features, but their approach to the audience is different.

Microsoft shut down Mixer last month suddenly and partnered with Facebook Gaming. However, it shocked the online game players worldwide, but it was a big partnership deal. Even though Mixer was nowhere in comparison to Twitch but the online game streaming service attracted a huge number of online game players in a very small time establishing itself in second place. Meanwhile, Facebook Gaming was at fourth position in acquired viewership, leaving YouTube Gaming defunct. However, after the partnership deal of Microsoft with Facebook, Gaming is certainly going to help the company to challenge online game streaming giant, Twitch.
With this huge shuffling, the ...
... two big streamers and part of Mixer previously have the option to return to Facebook Gaming or Twitch. Since Ninja has left the Twitch, Facebook Gaming and Twitch are doing everything to lock down these biggest online game streamers. But, there are some big hurdles that are almost impossible to conquer if Facebook’s intention is of usurping Twitch.
Facebook Gaming: Unique Advantages but not better than Twitch
Facebook Gaming has an enormous audience, and with 1 billion users of Facebook, it has the potential to become the biggest online gaming platform. The company launched Facebook Gaming app to provide the user’s guidelines that make streaming easy for its users. However, these all guidelines and so the idea of becoming a huge online platform is still not implemented properly by the company. All these weaknesses of Facebook Gaming have provided an opportunity for Twitch. Twitch is a well established online video game streaming platform.
. On the contrary, Facebook users are on the platform for various reasons. Facebook users are on the platform to scroll through the various news feeds and for other purposes. There is very little chance that they will spend their time on game streaming on the platform. Whereas, the users of Twitch are very much knowing what to expect from Twitch. Twitch has established itself in various entertainment pillars while competing with radio, television, books, etc. The services provided by Twitch are very synonymous with live streaming. Such a reputation has not been earned by any other platform, not even Facebook.
However, with so inherent capabilities possessed by Twitch does not mean it is unassailable. The platform is doing very little to enable users to discover content. The huge streaming platforms, such as YouTube, uses an algorithm that keeps funneling content to the users. When users finish watching any program, then this algorithm provides many options to watch other content. In contrast, there is no such option available on Twitch due to its streaming nature. The platform takes care of its most new users by surfacing the streaming list of most popular games. However, there is less chance for the users to discover the content randomly unless they are the established user on Twitch.
Overall, Facebook has multiple options that it has developed with time to offer its users regarding discoverability. The same feature is absent in the case of Twitch, and it is not so clear when the streaming giant will introduce tweaks regarding user discoverability. The user discoverability can help Facebook Gaming to get more and more users with time. On the other part, Microsoft has various plans ready to make gaming a more focal point on Facebook Gaming. The company will stream Facebook Gaming on its Xbox Series X. All these things indicate that Facebook is going to introduce many tweaks to change its identity and establish itself among users.
