We are all deeply concerned about this pandemic and how it is affecting our daily lives and relationships. We are especially concerned about family members and loved ones whom we can no longer physically visit, support and be present to. How can we express our care, especially to our loved ones? Gift cards for restaurants, movies, and shopping are valuable and important. Staying in touch using Skype or Facetime, sending cards and letters, and assuring them of our thoughts and prayers are especially meaningful.
In addition, we might want to send symbols of empathy, of hope and trust that we are in the care of God. We can send symbols of encouragement to help them to keep their spirits up during these trying and isolating times. We can send symbols of solidarity which express that we are with them in spirit, that their needs and concerns are our needs and concerns.
