Cannabidiol (CBD) are the critical components of the cannabis plant, which tend to interact with receptors within our bodies. CBD's effect on viral infection was long neglected until it was found effective in treating a variety of medical conditions. While the efficiency with which KSHV infected the cells was constant, the spreading of the KSHV-infected cells was reduced.

3. CBD and TMEV

Eventually, the effect of CBD on mice infected with Theiler’s murine encephalomyelitis virus (TMEV) was assessed. Accordingly, researchers learned that prolonged CBD exposure could decrease white blood cell infiltration and microglia activation in mice’s brains. Consequently, CBD could reduce the frequency and severity of neuroinflammation in the chronic phase of infection with TMEV. But, no experimental evidence of the direct or indirect antiviral effect of CBD was found.
After frequent researches, it is now believed that cannabis and its derivatives possess a certain amount of medical potential for treating critical ailments.
