Sam Witwicky (Shia LeBeouf) is hoping for a normal life in college. But his plans change when he starts having visions of cryptic symbols that are embedded deep within his subconscious. The Decepticons, in search of those symbols, make Sam their top priority. They need the symbols to find an ancient machine that is capable of destroying the world.

Meghan Fox is definitely beautiful. Unfortunately, it is apparent from the beginning of this film that beauty is the only thing she has going for her in this movie. She often seems like she is just reading a monologue rather than playing a role.

Shia LeBeouf is a great actor. He was a fine choice in the pick of Sam. He was one of the few characters in the movie that I had actually cared about.

The movie is heavily clichéd and full of unfunny comedy. There was a scene with Sam's mother in which she became stoned. Though I know this movie was trying for a comedic moment with her, it only ...
... made her character more annoying. One of the other elements that I didn't like was that it was incredibly full of stereotypes. For example, it included two characters that were twins. Both of them have been heavily criticized of being stereotypical of African Americans. After seeing this movie, I agree. The story was dull and by the end of the film, I just didn't care about most of the characters.

Aside from Shia, the only good thing this movie had going for it was the action and the effects. The stunts and the violence abounded in this feature. So if you like a movie that is all about action, then this is the movie for you. Otherwise, you will not miss out on much passing this film up.
