Iphone Backup: How To Do It The Right Way

Backing up your iPhone in the right way can save from many potential data security threats. You will be able to easily restore every single piece of information on your iPhone in case you lose it. Even if you lose your iPhone somewhere and are unable to find it, then you might be able to buy a new cell phone to carry on, but losing data is the worst nightmare for most people. Most people store their essential, private and sensitive data in their devices and losing it all can make them seriously disappointed.
Gladly if you ensure to create a backup of your iPhone correctly, you will never be afraid of losing your iPhone. In this article, we are gonna tell you how to make a thorough backup of your iOS device.
Method 1: Backup iPhone to iCloud
iCloud is Apple’s native cloud storage and cloud computing platform that allows users to upload and backup their essential files to Apple’s secure server. It is far safer than any other third-party cloud storage because Apple ensures the protection and security of your uploaded data. iCloud is one of the default features on your iPhone and iPad.
Apple ...
... has made it effortless to backup any data to this highly reliable service. Here’s how to use iCloud to back up your iPhone:
On your iPhone, navigate to Settings.
After that, press on your name located on the upper of the list.
Choose the iCloud option located almost on the top of the menu.
Now you might see a list of apps and services that are linked to iCloud.
There you can enable the iCloud backup for different apps, including Photos.
To enable backup for Photos, click on Photos option in the list and you will get to know how iCloud backup feature works.
Your device is set to a model known as “Optimize iPhone Storage.”
If your Photos app is set to this option, your photos will be backed up in full resolution to the iCloud.
When your iPhone starts to run out of storage, you will be able to compress your photos to make some free space on your device. You will be able to access the full resolution images that you backup on the iCloud. You can also enable the iCloud backup for the Game Center app because it stores all progress of your games. By taking backup of it, you will be able to continue your games from where you left them even if you lose your current device.
Once you have enabled iCLoud backup for the desired apps and programs, it will update the new data stored in these selected apps automatically on a regular basis.
You can also update the iCloud backup manually for the apps you selected in the previous steps. All you have to do is follow the steps given down here to update the backup your iphone to iCloud manually:
First and foremost, navigate to the Settings.
After that, head to iCloud.
Now click the option saying “iCloud Backup”.
There is the main button to force the iCloud to update the backup of your iPhone. By tapping that button, your iPhone’s backup stored on iCloud’s server will be refreshed with the current status of your device.
With the standard account on iCloud, you get roughly 5GB of free online storage, which is not enough to store all of your high-quality images and other bulky data. You will soon run out of the storage on your device and would feel the need to upgrade it or switch to another online backup service.
If you want to upgrade your iCloud 5 GB storage, you will need to pay a small fee to unlock up to 2TB of iCloud storage. Here’s how to upgrade your iCloud storage:
Navigate to the Settings app on your iPhone.
Then head to Manage Storage Plan.
Once there, head to the Change Storage plan.
Now choose the online paid iCloud storage according to your requirement and budget.
Follow the onscreen prompts and instructions to complete the process.
Method 2: Backup iPhone Photos to Google Photos
If you don’t want to pay money in order to upgrade your backup storage, you can do one amazing thing, just remove all your photos from iCloud and then backup all your original picture to Google’s Android-wide image backup cloud storage known as Google Photos. You can use your iCloud to backup every other data, such as the data saved in other applications.
The Google Photos service is far better than iCloud when it comes to its free usability. It has no limits on how much photos one can upload. It is completely free of cost and doesn’t ask users to buy additional paid storage.
However, Google Photos might decrease the quality of your photos a bit, but your photos will not be compressed if they are already less than 16 megapixels resolution. Your photos can stay far better than Full HD resolution. So you should have any problem using this service.
Here how to backup your iPhone photos to Google Photos:
First and foremost, navigate to the Apple App Store.
Then, just download and install it.
Once that is done, you will need a Google account which most people already have at least one. Alternatively, you can create a new Google Account easily by signing up on gmail.com.
It never lowers down the quality of your uploaded images; it is just a myth, and that only happens when your images are higher than 16 MP.
You can even upload your images in their original size. Similar to the iCloud service, you have a limit of 15GB of data to upload on Google Photos with the standard free plan. When you open the Google Photos app for the first time on your iPhone, it will automatically ask you to backup your images to Google Photos. All you need to do is follow the on-screen steps when you open it for the first time on the iPhone.
