Sticking magnets together just means that you are creating a stronger magnetic field by combining the power of two magnets. The combined magnets’ powers will double definitely but to how much power can be acquired by doubling, there are limitations.

Commercially to double the power of a simple magnet, large companies do carry out stacking. Most companies prefer to use electro magnets and this is done only for specific occasions though which provide the right amount of attraction.

We suggest you be very careful if you are planning on stacking magnets for home use. There have been reports being attracted towards each other and Neodymium is very powerful with so much force that they can pinch body parts in the middle causing crushed fingers and broken bones. With so much force that they may chip and shatter as well, the magnets may strike each other.
