Internet and Cable bills can very easily burn a hole in your pockets. Chances are that you may be paying too much for your internet and cable TV. But those days are over, you can easily lower your Comcast Cable & Internet Bill with or without cutting the cord. In this article, you'll learn all the best ways you can save money on Comcast cable and internet service.

One of the biggest reasons that you are being charged more money than usual is if Comcast is the only cable and internet provider in your area. If that’s not the case and you still think that you are paying too much then you can negotiate with your Comcast cable and wireless internet service provider. Now that there is competition in the market, Comcast will easily reduce their prices instead of losing their customer to other internet service providers.

Understanding Your Comcast Bill:

Most of us complain about the bill being too expensive but we don’t try to understand why the bill is so high. When you sign up for the service the bill is as expected but after a year or two, you see a sudden peak in the internet bill. That’s simply because ...
... the promotional period has ended and now you have to pay the original price of the plan.

Let’s put this into simpler words, for instance, when you signed up for an Xfinity cable TV package, you had to pay $50 per month for the plan. Now you have to pay $70 for the same plan because the promotional period has ended, this increase in the base price, increases the overall bill by a huge sum!

Ways to Lower Your Monthly Bill:

There aren’t too many ways you can save your money but if you are ready to compromise on a few things then you can save a significant amount on your Comcast cable and Internet bill. Follow our basic tips for saving money on the Internet and cable TV service.

1. Sign Up for a Streaming Service:

Comcast offers a variety of Cable TV plans, ranging from basic to extreme. You get hundreds of channels on the extreme plan. Comcast Xfinity charges a huge sum of money for these channels, instead of paying over the top amount for a cable TV plan, invest in a streaming service. You get more flexibility with a streaming service, plus you can get a lot of channels and original TV shows and movies for less than half the amount you are paying right now!

If you already are getting Internet service from Comcast then you can sign up for a bundle plan with a basic cable TV plan. Believe me, you’ll save your hard-earned money. You can check out these streaming service platforms, most of them offer a free trial so you can test them before investing in any of the services.

* Hulu Live + TV: Best Overall
* YouTube TV: Best for Sports fans and Entertainment networks
* Sling TV: Simple Packages, Simple Pricing
* Philo: Best for Entertainment Only consumers

Most streaming services require you to enter your card details before starting with the free trial. If you don’t wish to pay after the free trial, you can easily cancel before the last date of the trial period. Before you decide to change your Comcast Cable TV plan, go through all the streaming service trials and you'll have a better idea of the plan you want to switch to!

2. Never Shy Away from Negotiation

With this ever-growing competition, no service provider wants to lose its customers over a few bucks. There are two ways you can negotiate, you can go to your local internet & Cable TV service provider and ask for a discount. You can always threaten to cancel your subscription as it is “too expensive”. The trick works most of the time and you’ll save yourself $10 or something close to it every month on your deal!

Or you can call the Comcast retention department, the department handles in keeping the customers with Comcast no matter what. When you call they’ll ask you your name or the name that comes on the bill. Follow the simple steps below and you'll get yourself a great deal.

* Keep an eye on other providers in your area and if they are offering a better deal than you are getting then you can tell that to the person on the other end of the phone line.
* Share the competitors offer and ask for a discount, this works most of the time as they would prefer giving you a discount rather than losing you as a consumer altogether.
* You can always threaten them to cancel. Once you tell them that you wish to cancel your service once the promotional period ends, they’ll do everything in their power to keep you as their consumer.

3. Buy a Modem & Router to Save on Monthly Rental

Comcast recently increased their monthly equipment fee to $13. Instead of paying $13 every month for the Xfinity WiFi gateway, you can purchase your own equipment. It is a one-time investment but you’ll save a lot of money in the long run! You won’t have to pay the monthly rental and the tax on the monthly rental. You can buy your own Modem & Router combo device from the list of Xfinity Compatible Modem and Routers on their website.

Log into your Comcast account and review the list to see which equipment fits your budget. Most of the WiFi gateway costs around $100 so if you buy it, you'll end up saving $156 every year by not paying the monthly rental. You’ll need to install the new equipment yourself if you know how to do it then its great but for technically weak people, here’s a step by step guide on how to do it yourself.

* Unplug your Rented equipment and disconnect the Coaxial cable
* Connect the cable to the new equipment, Plug in the cable into the wall
* Contact Comcast on their customer response number. Ask them to set everything up from their end
* They'll ask you the make and model of your WiFi gateway, you'll find it printed on the back of the device
* Open WiFi settings on your computer or Smartphone and enter the network name and password to connect
* You'll find the network name and password printed on the back of the device

Once your new Xfinity WiFi gateway is up and running, you just have to return your rented equipment to an Xfinity store so you won't be charged next month. For more details, visit https://www.clubhdtv.com/
