Obviously, those scientists performed profound research and discovered new dimensions in the understanding of nature. Their studies significantly influenced the further development of science and philosophy. Therefore, all of them are truly considered revolutionary scientists.
First of all, it is necessary to mention Nicolas Copernicus. His contribution to the development of science is difficult to overestimate. In the early 16th century, he began to work on the heliocentric model of the solar system. In his research, he wanted to prove that the sun was the center of the universe. Firstly, no one took it seriously, and his research was not supported by the government and church, in particular. Nevertheless, Copernicus continued developing his idea. Later, his model of the solar system was used to create the calendar of Pope Gregory XIII. A lot of time passed before the geocentric model had been commonly accepted by scientists all over the globe. In fact, the idea that the sun was the center of the universe seemed to be doubtful as it contradicted the popular beliefs and existing knowledge and philosophy at the time. The Copernican revolution channeled the development of science in the right direction. Although it was a difficult task, Copernicus managed to prove his theories and determine the further development in this sphere.
Another revolutionary scientist who is also worth paying attention to is Isaac Newton. He did great research in many scientific fields and significantly changed the beliefs and theories of his time. Firstly, he discovered the laws of motion, which formed a solid basis for the development of mechanics. Secondly, he investigated the law of universal gravitation, which gave a brilliant opportunity to depict the whole world in the form of mathematical formulae. In addition, Newton carried out important research in the field of optics and mathematics. At the same time, Newton also supported his innovative ideas with ancient beliefs and theories.
Finally, it is important to mention the personality of Rene Descartes. He is still considered the father of Western philosophy. Moreover, he did significant research in the field of mathematics, analytical geometry, and even psychology and pedagogy. Newton managed to present the main findings in this sphere. At the same time, Kepler was a follower of Galileo, who had discovered some significant laws in this sphere. However, they did not introduce innovations and did not change a lot from the present theories.
To sum up, the scientific revolution is an important process in human history. It helps to change people’s outlook and perceive the world in a completely new way. At the same time, it would be wrong to say that only revolutionary findings are important for the development of mankind. Any scientific research makes a great contribution to the development and progress.
