A Checklist For Size 15 Hunting Boots

Here is a checklist of considerations that you will want to make when you’re shopping for Size 15 Hunting Boots. Keep in mind that this is not a comprehensive list, and that moreover, the seasons you hunt, the game you pursue, and the area in the country where you live will all come into play. Do not assume that just because a quality appears here that it is entirely necessary in a pair of hunting boots, but by the same token be aware that you may have special needs in boots that are not covered on this list. Without further delay:
Waterproofing:
Hunting in nearly any part of the country and at any time of year is going to require you to find a solid pair of hunting boots that are entirely waterproof. Now, remember, this is not a hard or fast rule and there are some seasons where you might not need waterproofing, and in fact there might be some areas of the country where it is not necessary.

However, in the overwhelming majority of cases the seasons you hunt will be in the winter where getting wet feet can lead to hypothermia or frostbite or worse. The only way to protect yourself from the cold when conditions are wet is to invest in a durable pair of waterproof hunting boots. If your feet get wet in the cold, it’s going to expose you to other risks. You’ll just continue to lose heat until you develop hypothermia or worse, so if you hunt wet country, waterproofing is critical
Insulation:
As we mentioned, the majority of seasons throughout the country, with a few exceptions, take place in the fall and the winter. In most areas of the United States and Canada, that means long hours in the fields or woods with temperatures dropping to freezing or well below it.
Don’t think you can get away with your regular work boots if the temperatures are falling to below zero, especially if those work boots are uninsulated leather. They might be great at protecting you against occupational hazards, but when the mercury dips they will be sorely inadequate. Get a good pair of hunting boots with the right level of insulation for the country, and the time of year, that you hunt.
Slip Resistance:
As we mentioned, there’s a good likelihood that the areas you hunt will be wetter than others at some time of year. Protection against the ravages of water doesn’t just mean staying dry at all costs when it’s cold. It also comes down to being steady on your feet.
Rocks that have become wet or coated with moss are a serious hazard to a woodsman, especially one who is attempting to traverse low country or found a way over a watercourse. By the same token, anyone hunting from a boat, such as waterfowl hunters, has a serious need for slip resistant boots. This is a quality that usually comes as part and parcel of most hunting boots, but you might as well make sure.
Comfort and Support:
Make sure the boots you buy have comfortable, supportive insoles and other features to enhance their support and stability. Features like shanks, foam insoles and full grain uppers go a long way toward providing support, protection and comfort.
Last but not least: The Right Size
Don’t forget what is arguably the most important thing. If you need size 15 hunting boots, your checklist has to include a provision for size. If your boots don’t fit properly they won’t be any good to you even if they hit the other marks on this list. They won’t be comfortable or supportive, they won’t offer you slip resistance and they probably won’t keep you warm either. Make sure to pick up boots in your size so that you don’t sacrifice the other criteria.
