Work pressure, Project Deadline, Year end target, Performance appraisal, working after hours - these are no buzzwords. These are some of the depressingly familiar words in today's world of work environment. Though the outsourcing of jobs has brought in loads of money into a professional's life, it doesn't come without a price to pay. The sheer mental strain with hardly any exercise to our physical body can be detrimental to our health. A break away from this busy life in the form of a vacation is a good way to rejuvenate your physical and mental health.

If you are a religious person or interested in spiritual activities and plan to spend your vacation in a similar environment, ‘The Island of the Gods' should be the place you should be opting for. Yes of course, we are indeed referring to BALI, one of the Islands in Indonesia. Though Indonesia is religiously famous for its majority of population (about 93%) being Muslims, this particular Island has almost the same majority of populations who practice Balinese Hinduism!!

Bali has a rich religious history dating back to many thousands of years. One astounding ...
... statistic is the presence of 20,000 temples in this Island. There are temples literally everywhere in Bali. The people here have a strong spiritual inclination and consider themselves connected to the Gods in every activity they perform. No food is consumed before offering it to the Gods as a token of thanks for having provided them with the day's meal. They feel connected to the Gods even when they get to sleep in the nights. While sleeping at night, they sleep with their heads lying in the direction of the mountains that they consider sacred.

Atithi Devo Bhava - a verse in Sanskrit language from one of the ancient Hindu scripture called the Taittiriya Upanishad, when translated in English says A guest is a God indeed. The Balinese Hindus follow this verse so religiously! A foreign visitor would feel overwhelmed by the hospitality offered by the local people in this Island.

Though adventurous activities like the Beach surfing, trekking are main tourist attractions, many Westerners are drawn to this Island for its sheer spiritual beauty. The scent of sandalwood and incense sticks is felt everywhere we go. Many tourists who visit Bali take up Yoga classes for their physical health and Meditation to realize their own self.

With so much of a description about Bali being a religious and spiritual Island, do not assume that this place would be devoid of the luxuries offered in other tourist attractions in other parts of the world. You can still enjoy the luxury of star hotels and beach resorts and world class multi cuisine restaurants at unbelievably low cost.

Visit Bali once and you would feel rejuvenated physically and from within!!
