You may use a home security kit, or may not but if you are keen on ensuring the security and safety of your home, there are certain mistakes you should watch out for. Try not to make your home an easy option for the burglars. Here are a few tips:

Hiding your Keys
Homeowners are afraid of losing their keys or even locking themselves in their own homes. Therefore, an easy option to ensure home security is to hide the key at the property itself - a potted plant, beneath the doormat, above the door etc. Something they miss out on is the fact that those who want to break in know all the inns and outs of a homeowner's mind. If you are at all forgetful, try a keypad door lock.

Why should you fix those Broken Locks?
Make sure that all your doors or windows are locked with modern locking options. Use locks that are effective and useful, for guaranteeing home security. Don't keep that window on your fourth floor go unlocked as burglars sure know their way in.

Turn On the Burglar Alarms
Never keep a burglar alarm switched off - this can be detrimental ...
... to your home security. Make sure that the security system is updated and activated. If it is security software, upgrade it. Test the alarm systems, and leave them on whenever you're not home, or even if you're on an errand. Remember, ransacking and plundering only takes a few minutes.

Eradicated the Weeds and Bushes
Landscaping may be a good idea, but too much of it can spark your own danger. Allow your neighbors to see into the front and back of your yard. The shrubs and bushes are good hiding places; so why give the thieves that opportunity? Trim the foliage around the house and ensure that all outdoor lights are functional. Heat sensitive outdoor lights are a safe option.

Keep the Storage Sheds Locked
Lock your storage shed. Otherwise, the burglars will get all the tools for getting into your house. If there's a ladder out in the house, get it in, before anyone uses it to break in.

Where are the Car Keys?
Never keep the car unlocked - even if it is in the garage. Moreover, don't leave any of the home keys in the car either. This will give the thief entry into your car, as well as into your home.

Avoid Predictability
Don't return from office, or leave the house at the same time everyday. This is easy for the thieves to time your absence for breaking in. pay attention to these basics and along with having the home alarms, it is best to stay safe.
