Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a big challenge & can’t be underestimated. Routes to Kilimanjaro Peak

There are many routes to the peak. Every route has advantages and disadvantages. Based on your personal requirements like unquestionable adventure, route distance and cost of kilimanjaro Trekking, success rates of routes, a perfect route is suggested by your guide.

The Well-Known Routes are

1. Marangu Route

Popular with the name of Coca Cola route, it is one of the busiest routes reaching people to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. People assume it to be the easiest route to the Uhuru peak. ... this route in more than 6 days as speedy hiking may reduce the chances of summit victory. Only this route renders people comfortable solar light enriched sleeping hut with bunk beds and fluffy mattresses.

2. Machame Route

This route is very scenic & beautiful. It can be completed comfortably in 7 days. People coming on this route for Kilimanjaro trekking, climb high & sleep low allowing stressful tours. However, people with height phobia should not avail of this route as they have to hike the Barranco wall and Shira ridge and are a physical hassle to cross.

3. The Umbwe Route

While climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this route is availed by those who love caves. The first night's sleep is in Umbwe Cave Camp. Kilimanjaro trekkers get to see 2 more different caves on the next day. It is one of the routes filled with scenic beauty. In this route, you have to sleep at high altitudes.

4. Shira Route

This route allows you to drive up till 4km by a 4 wheeler within half an hour. The way is full of scenic beauty. On the way, the glorious panorama of Mt. Meru & Great Rift Valley can be seen. After driving, trek all the way to the Western beach or Barafu hut to reach Uhuru Peak. Only those people are allowed to drive till 4km who have done hiking till that height a few days ago. Else, driving is prohibited.

5. The Lemosho Route

It is one of the quietest routes of Kilimanjaro only till day 3 after which it merge with Machame route just prior to Lava Tower. However, this route is not followed during the rainy season.

6. The Rongai Route

You will experience a different scene on your Kilimanjaro trekking via this route. Tents are available on this route for sleeping.
