Being in business is being under a lot of stress. The rewards are phenomenal but you have to deal with the changing environmental conditions all the time. With the global pandemic of Novel Coronavirus, businesses across the globe have been severely affected. And, the tattoo industry is no different.

If you are worried about your tattoo business, it is understandable. Changing government regulations, the cautionary approach of clients and the ever-constant overheads can definitely take a toll on you. But there is a silver lining. Many states have allowed tattoo salons to re-open with several guidelines to maintain social distancing. And, few other states have agreed to allow tattoo businesses to resume services in Phase 3.

Let’s find out how you can ensure the sustainability of your tattoo business in these stressful times of Covid-19.

1. Appointment-Only

In order to follow the norms of social distancing, it is best to offer your services on the basis of appointments only. Limit occupancies to no more than 50 percent of the stated fire capacity in the establishment. Avoid walk-in clients and stagger ...
... appointments, so that you get enough time to sanitize the place before your next client. You can even ask clients to wait in their cars instead of the waiting area so as to avoid over-crowding in the tattoo parlor. Ask them to use a mask or cloth for covering the face. Screen them for signs of illness. Provide means to wash their hands and sanitize them before accessing any item in the salon. Additionally, you can ensure the appropriate distance between workstations so that clients are at least 6 feet apart.

When you are dealing with several customers each day, communication is the key. Inform them about the guidelines in advance so that they are not taken by surprise.

2. Smart Shopping of Tattoo Supplies

The benefit of appointments is that you can ascertain the demand of your services and bulk order tattoo supplies smartly. Ordering multiple supplies without really considering the immediate demands of your clients is not a prudent decision. Discuss your requirements with a wholesale supplier, request a tattoo equipment catalog of the supplier’s products, negotiate the prices, talk about credit terms and work on building a supply channel for your store.

3. Daily Deep Cleaning and Sterilization

By now, we are all aware of how you can reduce the chances of infection by washing hands with soap for 20 seconds. And, sanitizers have also become an essential part of our daily routine. The same goes for your tattoo salon. You may be using disposable tattoo supplies including disposable tattoo needles, single-use tattoo cartridges, disposable tattoo tubes, disposable face masks, etc. You may be sterilizing other tattoo equipment and following all the protocols of maintaining a hygienic environment.

However, with the recent pandemic, the government guidelines include daily deep cleaning to keep the workplace safe. You will have to sanitize the place from top to bottom, sterilize efficiently and disinfect it thoroughly for the safety of your clients. Additionally, you should remove all unnecessary yet frequently touched items such as magazines, service menus, and other paper products from the waiting area.

4. Face Shields for Artists

The tattoo industry involves working in close proximity with clients. As an artist, you may have been using disposable face masks. You may also be buying protective tattoo gloves in bulk to ensure hygiene. Due to the current Coronavirus outbreak, a few states have suggested artists to use face shields in order to protect themselves against a possible infection. As social distancing cannot be maintained while working on a tattoo design and the duration of the appointment can vary depending on the complexity of the design, it is best to use a face shield while performing services.

5. Encourage Contactless Payments

The spread of the Novel Coronavirus has changed the way we know our world. Cash use has become minimal and even though the World Health Organization (WHO) didn’t declare that the disease can be spread via banknotes, it has advised the public to wash hands after handling money especially if cooking or eating food.

However, people are cautious and many are opting for contactless payments in order to reduce the risk of transmission. Money changes hands frequently and the information on Covid-19 is evolving every minute, so it doesn’t hurt to stay safe. It is best to provide multiple payment options to customers so that they can make payments easily and help you generate more revenue for your business.

Re-opening your Tattoo Salon: Safety for Everyone involved

Quite frankly, tattoo salons are more sterile than most hair salons and nail parlors because of the high amount of regulations put in place. But it is never wrong to take additional precautions and reduce the chances of infection. Remember that your safety is in your hands only.

If you get infected by Novel Coronavirus, your health may suffer a lot. Not to mention your business as well. It is best to take necessary precautions, follow the safety guidelines, and provide a safe environment for your clients to get inked.

Are you ready to re-open your tattoo parlor? Have you stocked all the necessary tattoo supplies in bulk? Whether it is protective tattoo gloves, face shields, disposable face masks, or any other type of tattoo safety equipment for professionals, you will find everything online. Choose a reliable seller who can ship your tattoo equipment quickly.
