Hughesnet Satellite Internet Data Plans Review

If you live in a rural area of the USA then choosing an internet service provider can be tricky, there are not enough internet providers and all of them offer satellite internet service. Out of all the satellite internet providers, you’ll find in the backwoods of USA, HughesNet internet plans and pricing in my area has the best services. One thing you should know about satellite internet connectivity in the USA is that there are only two providers. HughesNet and Viasat, we recommend HughesNet Satellite internet data plans as they are less expensive and offer good enough speed.
Let’s take a look at the prices, date, plans, and speed that makes HughesNet our best pick for satellite internet data plans.
HughesNet Satellite Internet Data Plans & Pricing
HughesNet internet plans and pricing in my area are simple and clear. Satellite internet obviously costs more than other types of internet services like DSL or Fiber internet. You will need to install a satellite dish atop your roof to send and receive signals for you to use the network. If ...
... you have recently moved from a city to a rural area then be ready for a higher internet bill every month. Let’s take a look at the plans HughesNet has to offer.
As we stated above, the plans are really simple and transparent, you won’t have any trouble in understanding what you are getting with the plan. The name of the HughesNet satellite internet data plans is based on how much data you’ll get each month. You get the same speed for all plans and you won’t see a rise in speed if you pay more for it.
Pros
No Sudden Price hikes
Clear, Transparent plans and Price
Cons
25 MBPS speed for all plans
Low Data caps
How Much Does HughesNet Cost?
The price range for HughesNet satellite internet plans and pricing in my area range from $59.9 for 10 GB data per month to $150 for 50 GB data per month. There are 4 plans in total and you can choose which one you want based on your internet usage. There is a data limit and your speed will be reduced after you go over your data limit.
There’s one good thing about HughesNet satellite internet data plans. You get 50 GB as bonus data every month and you can use that data at night between 2 A.M - 5 A.M only. So if you are worried about having a data limit then you can download the essentials at night and go through with your normal internet usage in the day time.
The 20 GB data plan is a good enough plan if you don’t need too much internet, but unlike Viasat, you won’t have to face the price hike every 3 months.
HughesNet Internet Speed
HughesNet 25 MBPS download speeds obviously can’t compete with Viasat’s 100 MBPS internet speed. But with Viasat, you have to brace yourself for unexpected price hikes every 3 months. With HughesNet internet data plans you don’t have to worry about paying an extra amount for your internet bill every 3 months.
HughesNet Extra Charges
HughesNet satellite internet plans and pricing in my area bind people in a 2-year contract the same as Viasat. But there are no surprise price hikes, so that’s a good thing. As for the equipment cost that comes along with HughesNet internet plans are very hefty.
The satellite internet plans are tough to set up as you have to mount a satellite dish and just to be clear you’ll have to pay for that satellite dish as well. HughesNet broadband can’t work without a satellite dish and you’ll have to buy the equipment or lease it, whatever you choose, it’ll be very costly.
If you don’t plan to switch to any internet provider soon, then you are better off leasing the internet dish instead of buying it. You have to pay $14.99 per month for the rent of the satellite dish, if you purchase the satellite Dish it’ll cost you $450, which is more than you will pay with renting the equipment.
Conclusion
HughesNet satellite internet plans and pricing in my area offer the best internet service in rural areas. Keeping Price, plans, data cap, and contracts into consideration, HughesNet is definitely a better option than Viasat.
