GLICO HEALTHCARE is a private health insurance company specialized in proving bespoke health insurance packages for all resident in Ghana. GLICO HEALTHCARE is the first Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) to be established in Ghana following the enactment of the National Health Insurance Act 2003 (Act 650), to offer the Ghanaian public affordable and quality healthcare. In 2005, GLICO HEALTHCARE was re-registered as a Private Commercial Health Insurance Scheme to take advantage of the ever-growing need of Ghanaians for private health insurance in addition to the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Over the years, we have acquired experience and our customers benefit from in-depth specialist attention in the provision of comprehensive medical services and supplemental health insurances, to address the limitations of the National Health Insurance Scheme. GLICO HEALTHCARE currently operates five (5) health insurance schemes, namely GLICO HealthPlan, Gemini Top-up scheme, GLICO Tourist Health Plan, GLICO Students Health insurance and Sunkwa Health Insurance Plan.

Our schemes operate with a network of carefully selected; reputable service providers across the country who have been contracted to provide services for the enrolled members of the scheme. In addition, GLICO HEALTHCARE has collaborated with the Ghana Health Service for the use of Government Hospitals, Polyclinics and Health Centers nationwide and Mission Hospitals. These collaborations enable beneficiaries to access our schemes throughout the country.

Our extensive network of service providers (clinics, pharmacies, opticians, dental surgeons and diagnostic centers among others) in all ten (10) regions of the country, make us the company of choice in health service delivery. In addition, we are always willing and ready to accredit any service provider our clients may wish.
GLICO HEALTHCARE sees to the provision of state-of-the-art equipment and matchless healthcare insurance to our employees, members and customers nationwide which affords them an added peace of mind. We go beyond the conventional health insurance practice and offer coverage for treatment at herbal clinics where necessary.
