The paralegal profession can be called one of the most needed professions of our time. Nowadays any lawyer intends to engage a paralegal.

A paralegal's duties are various. And any lawyer understands that there is much to gain from paralegal's help. A legal assistant is to do a lot of things from researching a legal case to fulfilling all the documents required.

There are a lot of things to do for those who have chosen this profession. However, as any other one it can have some advantages and disadvantages. All of them are to be mentioned here for those, who would like to know if this profession can be suitable for him/her or not.

Cons of the Paralegal Profession:

1. A paralegal is often working long hours, frequently beyond his/her normal day.

2. A paralegal is to make lots of research. Moreover, all the facts he/she has found out while the research must be written down.

3. This profession has no certifications by law that cannot be called a positive point.

Pros of Being the Paralegal:

1. Due to various duties and problems that must be solved in the process of working, ...

2. The legal assistant's salary is rather high, independently of place of working and all other points.

3. There is a great amount of organizations those need a legal assistant. That is why it is almost impossible for a legal assistant to remain unemployed.

Moreover this profession is one of those that were created to help people in need. There a lot of various cases, when a person may need attorney's help and to help him/her may mean to save somebody's life. This is a moral aspect of the profession and it always must be remembered, especially by those people, who have decided that the profession of a legal assistant is suitable for him/her.
