Online remittance takes convenience, security, and affordability to an entirely new level as compared to offline transfers. This is the reason why most NRIs in Europe now prefer using online transfer services to send funds to their families in India.

But while reputed remittance service providers ensure utmost convenience, people using online transfer services for the first time are often uncertain about the transfer process. While the transfer procedures can vary between service providers, here is a brief overview in just three simple steps

1. Place the Transfer Request

You will be using the money transfer service as well as your local European bank account for the transfer. So, the first step would be to log into your money transfer account. Once you are in, select the beneficiary to whom you’d like to send funds in India. If you are using the transfer service for the first time, you will have to register the beneficiary.

Cross-check the beneficiary details before submitting. Once the beneficiary is registered, you can then select the amount you’d like to transfer. Check the EUR/INR exchange ...
... rate before submitting the transfer request.

2. Online Fund Transfer

Once the transfer is initiated from the online portal of the service provider, you now need to fund your transfer. This can be done by sending funds from your local European account to the local European account of the service provider. You can find their banking details on their official website.

You might have also received a tracking number from the remittance portal. Make sure that you do mention your tracking number in the “Message to Recipient” section at the time of sending funds. Your transfer to India will only be initiated once the local bank account of the service provider is deposited with the exact amount that you have placed a transfer request for.

3. Credit to Beneficiary in India

The tracking number helps the service provider know who has made the transfer. After receiving funds from your local account, your transfer will be processed, and the funds would be directly deposited into the bank account of your beneficiary in India.

The transfer duration can vary between service providers. But some Indian banks allow you to send money from Europe to India within 24 hours. You can prefer such banks for safe and quick transfers.

Simpler Way to Send Money to India from Europe

As can be seen above, the whole process of sending funds to India from Europe online is super simple and safe. Simply follow the basic safety measures like using your own secure device and internet connection, and your remittance should be processed without any hassles.

But make sure that you do check the transfer process while selecting a remittance service as the steps can significantly vary between services. Indian banks in Europe are generally known to offer faster and more secure remittance services.
