Industrial ventilation is quite different from domestic ventilation. Due to the lack of exposure to the various manufacturing processes, people think that both are similar. Nothing could be further from the truth. ‘Ventilation’ and ‘fume extraction’ are common terms that you would come across while exploring industrial processing.

Ventilation In Manufacturing Plants
Ventilation refers to two processes at the same time. It points out to the process of air exchange with the external spaces, and air circulation inside the manufacturing plants. In factory buildings, ventilation is used to enhance the air quality and keep it at the acceptable standards.

Therefore, the process of ventilation indicates the removal of inside air from the interiors of a building. Confined spaces and rooms have an unhealthy, stale air, which can be replaced with fresh air. Besides, it is necessary where machines and engines are present, ensuring a constant supply of oxygen. It helps in controlling the humidity, cooling, combustion and controlling smoke and vapour.

Ventilation refers to a process, through which the air ...
... in any given place can be replaced or changed to enhance its quality. Ventilation is necessary for breathing properly since the level of oxygen is reduced in occupied areas. Ventilation adds fresh air that has oxygen so that workers in factories can breathe comfortably. Besides, it helps in eliminating excessive moisture, unpleasant odours and contaminants (dust as well as other contaminants) that make it more comfortable to do factory work. Ventilation brings in external air into the industrial manufacturing plant to enhance air circulation in the manufacturing area or industrial shed. Therefore, the interior air does not remain stagnant.

Types Of Ventilation In Factories
In a building, types of ventilation can be segmented into two types:

Natural Circulation: Natural circulation does not involve the use of any fans. However, this process often turns out to be ineffective and not practical in many industry types. Therefore, using industrial fans to enhance ventilation is the only practical solution.

Forced Or Mechanical Circulation: This type of circulation helps in controlling excessive humidity, contaminants and odours. Often, it is controlled through the replacement of dilatation of external air. However, the process involves lots of energy under humid conditions. For several applications, direct-drive fans are recommended as this helps to cut down costs of maintenance.

Fume Extraction In The Manufacturing Environment
Fume extraction systems involve electrical equipment that extracts gases, fumes and particles using the suction mechanism to make the air breathable. This helps in the extraction of different types of materials like dust particles, sand, soldering, welding and laser dust. In the process, it removes the fumes and other materials, that may prove hazardous to health.

Various dust particles are generated during the production of various goods. This causes air pollution inside the factory or manufacturing unit, exposing the workers to health hazards. In these circumstances, fume extractors prove to be an efficient solution. These are also used to extract poisonous fumes from the manufacturing units. Incorporating such systems involves adherence to certain workplace laws and regulations.

Here are certain places where this mechanism proves beneficial:

• Factories, including manufacturing units and workshops
• Pharmaceutical industries like laboratories, workplaces, stores, and chemical processing areas
• Industries like cement, iron and steel
• Food processing industries, particularly in cooking areas and kitchens

Fume extractors are commonly used in many types of manufacturing plants.

Large Industrial Fans Essential For Ventilation / Fume Extraction In Factories
For doing the various functions of manufacturing processing, it is essential to have equipment for ventilation and fume extraction. These ventilation and fume extraction equipment serve many functions including making factory conditions fit for humans, extracting harmful gases and substances away for safe disposal and also facilitating proper environment for humans in the areas surrounding the factory.

Reitz India manufacturer of PA fan has gained a trusted name in the fan industry for their exclusive production standards and merchandise quality. Reitz India primary air fan supply significant static pressure air which is ideal for balancing the pressure drops in the boiler applications of various power plant industries.
