The Changed Scenario Of Air Travel Post Covid-19
The novel corona virus or COVID-19 has taken the entire world by storm. Something which was predicted as a normal disease and then an epidemic only to last around the Republic of China, it is now the problem of the entire universe. Though nature seems to be taking advantage of it, the world is practically closed. Countries have imposed lockdowns, shops and services are shut, and most importantly, Travel has taken a backseat, in some instances the industry has received the biggest blow of this generation. Air Travel will not seem to resume in the coming months but let’s see below how the impact of COVID-19 can change the way Air Travel functions for the remaining months in 2020 and the coming years:
Passenger Tests: Well passenger tests will become an equally important function as immigration to get into further procedures and enter a country. This is going to be an added step at airports. A major concern is that customers will be put off by health-related entry rules that may differ from country to country, especially during an uneven opening-up process. However annoying it might get, passenger ...
... tests will be the need of the hour for at least another 18 months for international travel, as the pandemic will die but it’s scare and after effects wont.
Travel Will Have New Seasons: With the lockdown procedures if the precautions are not followed by the easing of the situation, the lockdown era can be back making flight ticket prices all the more expensive. Travel will have new peak and off peak seasons depending on the situation and hat will show in the new improved flight ticket prices. Cheap International flights will be a dream for many for a lot of time. We won’t see any flight deals as passenger traffic will not be that great compared to the previous until everything come back to normal. So if you are even planning to travel internationally in 2021, make sure you have saved up enough as the flight ticket prices are set to soar.
Discounts will not be applied: Discounts and flight deals will be a thing of the past, but temporarily. Airlines are waiting to get back in business as they are the biggest entities to have lost millions of a lot of money. The airlines are bearing severe losses along with a significant loss of employees. Airlines of course are badly hit and there are no second thoughts on that. To hope that you would probably get or look forward to Cheap International Flights in the coming months is no less than a delusion. The airlines are absolutely going to go with their standard or even higher flight ticket prices. Exclusive discounts or enormous flight deals, will temporarily not be the trend with respect to air travel. As airlines will function with less passenger capacity, to incur their heavy losses selling Cheap International flights or domestic flights for that matter will not make any sense. Pitching flight deals to customers will be a lucrative deal for the buyers but when airlines already waving off reschedule and cancellation fees, Cheap International Flights may not be the thing for now.
You won’t require just a passport: Some countries will not even take the chance of testing passengers at the border. It will all start right along the check in process. Airports and countries may also suggest testing procedures after every airport procedure a passenger goes through from check in to boarding. Entrance will be refused unless you have a certificate of immunity due to the fact that you’ve recovered from an infection or because you have been vaccinated (if at all vaccines are available). These added documents will then somewhere make you eligible for travelling especially internationally. This may mean temporary visas and more documentation that you will most likely require while travelling.
Air Travel is the largest hit industry in the world. Airlines have literally stopped operations and some are going towards bankruptcy. Something which was touted as a 1 month disease surrounding around the borders of China has become a world pandemic. Other things like compulsory medicated hand sanitizers, no in-flight magazines, mandatory use of gloves by cabin crews and more such regulations too will be applied for air travel for a significant amount of time. We can just hope for the situation to subside, though temporary, the air travel business will soon get on back on track leaving new lessons for travellers.
