Protein bars are well known as an excellent source of adding enough protein to your diet. They serve as either a between-meal snack or as a fulfilling meal replacement. There are a number of factors that you need to take into consideration when you’re in the process of finding the right protein bars India. While some of these bars are loaded with artificial ingredients, added sugars, and fats, others may have more calories than you need or want. Thus, before you choose one, it is important for you to look at its content and carefully evaluate your requirements before making a decision –
Sugar Content
Did you know? An average person consumes about 60 pounds of sugar per year, which means the average woman gets almost 335 more calories every day. When you read the labels on a protein bar, look out for words that end with ‘ose’. They are the terms that indicate the sugar content. You should also look out for cane juice, corn syrup, and molasses. All these ingredients are sure to cause a boost in your blood sugar level while also pumping up the calories count more and more.
Fat Content
As we all ...
... know – fat is essential in a number of food products for them to bake correctly and more importantly, for it to taste delicious. However, if the fat content is only for the sake of fat and flavour, it is sure not healthy and there is a possibility they would damage the nutritional value of even the best energy bar. It is important for the fat content to be less than the amount of protein content.
Protein Content
There is sure to be a little bit of confusion that may accompany search for protein bars, majorly because there are some technically protein bars and then there are energy bars that have totally different amount of protein content in them. If you’re seeking a bar to supplement your protein intake during the day, it should definitely be one of the first items on the label. Plus, the bar should be called a "protein bar" and not energy bar.
Calories
Sure, protein bars come in two different sizes. While one of them comes with less than 100 calories and is meant to be a snack, the other larger one comes with close to 200 calories per serving and is meant to be a meal replacement. Once you know you have reached that level of calorie, you should also consider if the other ingredients are absolutely worth it. This is because you are reaching the levels of most candy bars at this point, and if that’s the case, it sure may not be a valid trade-off to recommend someone to buy the "protein bar" only because of the label. If the label cannot back up what it has promised, it’s time you need to explore some other brand.
With the above factors, you also need to consider the protein bar price. However, it also entirely depends on the nutritional value that the protein bar comes with. Choose your meal replacement or mid-day meal wisely and stay with while binging on something absolutely delicious and healthy.
