Now it is being said that we need to learn to live with Corona. The corona is going to stay with us and will become part of social fabric. Therefore, there shall be new ways of doing the business. The way we used to do business shall change.
The movement shall get restricted and people will avoid personal face to face meetings. Most of the work shall get done through remotely and distant interaction. We see that face to face selling shall be replaced with tele selling. When it comes to tele selling the women have an upper edge due to certain personality characteristics. We are trying to explain the same below.
1. Field sales will be replaced by inside sales: As mentioned above, as a “business growth consultant” I am sure that face to face selling it going to get reduced significantly. In times to come we see a huge role for female executives in selling. Where women shall have a big advantage. Be it tele-marketing or online marketing, women at better than men. Do not believe me? ... presentation skills, hand gestures and capabilities to listen as well as talk convincingly. A female voice is given higher preference on telephones. That is why call centres are flooded with female professionals. Inside sales as it is commonly known as, the ladies shall have an upper hand. The world is waiting for you ladies!
2. Changing face of marketing: As sales and business coach I worked with lots female entrepreneurs. I have found again and again that women are more focused and committed. They can work from the confinements of home, more importantly without compromising on the quality! How so? Look around you, smart home makes, braced with the latest technology managing homes as well as profession with impeccable precision! Social media marketing and internet marketing will come naturally to the women folk. Now imagine, an opportunity given to passionate part-time home makers, only sky is the limit. And this is a great opportunity woman can look forward to, and more importantly feel happy about!
3. Need for high quality soft skills: Well, both men and women may have equal intelligence quotient (IQ), but women undoubtedly have higher emotional quotient (EQ). Post covid-19 era will change mankind, the society will have overcome a pandemic. That society will need herculean sellers who can connect with the customer at human level more than it has ever been needed! And who better than the fairer sex has this potential? As sales Coach I know for sure that 90% of the top performers in sales have higher EQ.
4. Work from home capabilities: Women are instinctively better at multitasking; they have better focus. Due to their greater commitment and discipline they are even learn faster! And therefore, the smart women of today must take advantage of their natural talents.
5. E commerce business sites will increase significantly: Women will also have advantage because e-commerce needs greater awareness, creativity, and logical analysis for content creation. Again, one of the natural skills in ladies. Due to the societal set up, men will be motivated to run for the field jobs. But the COVID -19 experience has made all businesses realize the need to strengthen their e-commerce strategies. A field opening at lightning speed for women. So, I wish them all the best of health and prosperity! Shine away!
