Feeling anxious is never odd or uncommon. We all do feel or have felt anxious at some or the other age, stage or point in life. Social anxiety too, isn’t uncommon at all. No matter which country or state you live in, which economic bracket you belong to, and which social group to dwell in, social anxiety can drip anybody anytime. The good news is, there are these simple tips that you can try and these can help you in overcoming anxiety disorders to some extent. Recognizing your situation and syndrome is an excellent sign. It means you are not living in denial and you are open for solutions and bringing about changes to make your situation better. So before you book an appointment for Social Anxiety Therapy in Dallas, these are a few basic tips that we want you to try on your own or with a help of your friend or sibling.

1. Start One-On-One

If you are ...
... facing trouble gelling in with your classmates and making friends, start with one-on-one conversations instead of trying to be a part of a group but not being able to. Talk to the most friendly and smiling face you see around as when you get a chance. Small talks do help. Keep things short and friendly. Less is never less; it’s the quality that matters.

2. Limit Your Time

Spend only as much time with new, prospective friends as you are comfortable. If you are hanging out somewhere, you agree to join them when you know you have a class starting soon and you only have a few minutes to be a part of the group but you can sneak out before you start to get uncomfortable. Maybe you can plan a quick bite with them in the canteen before the class begins or your ride arrives.

3. Choose Your Classes Wisely

If you really want to overcome your problems, you need to choose your classes where group interactions are required. Choosing your subject is definitely more important but there always are a few extra classes which you can join just to get to be a part of a group you otherwise have no lineage with.

4. Talk to Your Teachers

Your school teachers might have known and understood you in a different manner but things might get difficult in college. It is better to talk to your teachers as and when you get a chance and explain your situation to them. It is highly likely that they will not embarrass you next time you are supposed to present something but are uncomfortable. They will also slowly push you and ensure you grow towards being comfortable.
