Now wet the towel and use this towel to clean the spot. The water will dilute the solution thereby ensuring that the solution does not remain stuck to the carpet. Instead of the cleaning solution, you can use vinegar as well. The acid in the vinegar will get rid of the stains and the smell of the vinegar will cut through the pungent odor of the spot as well.
