Types Of Degrees You Can Pursue In Law

The type of degree not only changes the syllabus covered but also the future career opportunities. LLB: This undergraduate degree lasts for 3 years. It acts as a solid foundation for those who wish to pursue higher education in law. Generally, this course covers the seven core modules of constitutional or administrative law, contract law, criminal law, land law, tort law, equity and trusts, and EU law.
LLM: An LLM or Master of Laws is a postgraduate degree usually available for students who already have a degree in law. This course provides students with the liberty of choosing their area of interest from the vast range of specializations. You can pursue this degree to master a certain type of law practice such as criminal law, environmental law or even corporate law. The duration of the degree is usually one year and it focuses more on the practical aspect rather than the theoretical aspect.
