NDA or National Defence Academy Exam is an entrance exam organized by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) in every year to recruit candidates in different Indian Defence forces like Army, Navy and Air Force. It is the entrance examination, wherein, candidates qualifying the written test will also have to clear the SSB interview round for your complete selection.The candidates who got selected in SSB then go through medical process.After passes the medical test the final merit list are made and the selected candidates are send to their respective training centers . National Defence Academy is a institute or training centre that provides training to young boys to become officers in theIndian Defence Forces. NDA examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year ( in April & September). Only 12th pass candidates or 12th appearing candidates are eligible to fill NDA examination form to sit in the examination. The Mathematics of 300 marks and General ability Test(GAT) of 600 marks & each papers are of 150 minutes. Candidates applied for Airforce and Navy should have passed class 12th with Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects,For army branch all stream candidates are eligible. After clearing the written examination, qualified candidates are called for SSB interview according to their choices in the 3 defence forces. Those candidates who are selected by the SSB are gone through medical examination. Those who clear all the three stages and have name in Final merit List are called for a 3 year course to NDA .After a 3 years basic training at NDA, ARMY cadets are sent to Indian Military Academy Dehradun(IMA), Air Force cadets to Air Force (AFA) and Navy cadets of NDA to Indian Naval Academy (INA) for final stage training. And after that these cadets become officers and serve nation.
Syllabus of NDA
The Mathematics paper are of 300 marks while General Ability test are of 600 marks. The written test are of total of 900 marks .For every incorrect response 0.33 marks will be deducted as negative marking .After clear the written test, candidates have send to SSB Interview. The interview process will be of 900 marks .The question paper of Mathematics and PART B of General Ability test will be in both English and Hindi languages.
NDA 2020 Syllabus for General Ability Test
Paper 2 of NDA is the General Ability Test that judge the candidates basic awareness and English . It can be further divided into two parts, English and General Knowledge.
The total marks is 600.
Paper time limit is of 2.5 hours.
Syllabus for Paper 2.
Part A- English
The English portion is designed in such a way that can judge a candidate's knowledge of the basic grammar and vocabulary.
It judges ability of the candidates to form correct sentences and use of words.
This section are of 300 marks.
Part B- General Knowledge
General Knowledge question paper will cover current affairs, questions from Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events. The paper checks the knowledge and intelligent of the candidate.
