Date of Birth Atal Bihari Vajpayee:

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on 25 December 1924 in Gwalior. His father Krishna Bihari Vajpayee was a school teacher and poet. He did his schooling from Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Gwalior.

Young Atal Bihari Vajpayee:

After completing his graduation from Victoria College and his post-graduation in MA political science from DAV College in Kanpur. In 1944, he joined the Arya Kumar Sabha and became its general secretary. He also participated in the Quit India Movement with his brother in 1942. Shri Atalji became the Pracharak (full-time worker) in 1947 after joining the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He went to Uttar Pradesh, where he has worked for various newspapers, including Veer Arjun, Swadesh, Rashtradharama, and Panchjanya.

About Atal Bihari Vajpayee:

In the year 1951, Atalji joined the Bhartiya Jana Sangh when it newly formed. The party appointed him as the national secretary for the northern region. Life History Of Atal Bihari Vajpayee:

In the year 1975, when Indira Gandhi sanctioned the Emergency, Atalji got arrested with the other member of the party.
When the emergency removed in the year 1997, all the opposite parties came together to unite against Indira Gandhi. At that time, the Jana Sangh merged into a new form called the Janata Party, which won the general election in 1977.


Under the Morarji Desai’s cabinet, Atalji was selected as the minister of external affairs. When the party fell in 1980, the Bhartiya Jana Sangha and RSS formed a new party, the Bhartiya Janta Party, in 1980.
After the next 16 years, Atalji and other party members work effortlessly to expand and strengthen the party.
BJP also got involved in the Ram Janambhoomi Mandir movement.
By the year 1996, BJP became the single largest party as a result of its determined ideology.
In the general elections of 1988, Atal Bihari Bajpayee again became the Prime Minister.
BJP took several decisions under the guidance of Shri Atalji. The five nuclear tests were conducted in 1998 in Pokhran, hence becoming the nuclear-weapon state. The initiate of the Delhi-Lahore bus service suggested by Atalji addressing the peace between India and Pakistan. Under the leadership of Shri Atalji, the three months Kargil war was fought, and this incident made a powerful political image.

Information About Atal Bihari Bajpayee:

For the third time, Atalji took his oath as the prime minister in the year 1999. In this, Vajpayeeji introduced several economic and infrastructural changes. He was prone to the national highway project and the Pradhan mantra Gram Sadak Yojna. The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan was started in 2001 to provide primary education for all. To develop close relations with the united states, Atal Vajpayee and the president of US Bill Clinton signed the historic vision document. Among many issues surrounded along Atalji, the most pressuring problem was the Ayodhya issue. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad wanted to build a temple in Babri Masjid, which resulted in communal violence. The Hindu-Muslim riots erupted in Gujrat in 2002, which was the BJP ruled state. In these riots, many Muslims were killed, and many people blamed Atalji for his inability to control the riots.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Death:

In December 2005, Atal Vajpayee declared his retirement from political life. After him, Manmohan Singh became the new prime minister.

In the year 2018, Atalji was hospitalized in a critical condition at AIIMS hospital Delhi. He remained in the hospital for two months and died on 16 august 2018.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Awards:

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was honored with many awards, which include- Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Lokmanya Tilak Award, Outstanding Parliamentarian Award. His birthday, 25 December, was declared as Good Governance Day.
