Donating towards charity and needy people is a very noble act. What are the limitations under section 80G?
If you have made your donations to support NGOs by a cheque, cash or a draft, you are eligible to claim deductions u/s 80G. However, donation materials like clothes, medicines, etc. cannot be claimed as a tax deduction under section 80G. Also, Financial Year 2018 onwards, donations made in cash above ₹2000 are not allowed as deductions; which is why it is a good option for you to making online donations.
