Mba In India Vs Abroad: Which One To Choose?
Master’s in Business Administration degree isn’t just a big hit in India but also is hugely respected across the globe. Students from all over the world pursue this course for their successful business career ahead. But one of the major dilemmas Indian students face after deciding on taking up this course is whether to pursue MBA courses in Bangalore or other states across the country or go for universities abroad. Both have their pros and cons and we will cite those for you to compare and make an informed decision.
-Admission
The most popular entrance exam for MBA in India is CAT (Common Aptitude Test) and then comes others like SNAP, XAT, NMAT, etc. that are taken by a huge number of students. Most of the colleges accept CAT scores, after which admission process includes Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. Once you clear all these, then you get admission in any MBA college. And to get admission in colleges abroad, you are to appear for exams like GMAT and GRE. Colleges abroad look for a rich academic record and work experience of 2-3 years in their ideal candidate, and so, getting in foreign colleges ...
... is a tad bit tougher than getting through Indian colleges’ admission procedure.
-Fees
Now, MBA is an expensive degree. On one hand, MBA in India costs somewhere between Rs. 8-25 lakh and on the other hand, in abroad, the same costs anywhere from Rs. 20 lakhs to Rs. 70 lakhs roughly. This may or may not include the logistics expenses depending upon the B-school you choose. If you’re willing to spend the amount for both Indian and foreign colleges, then it comes down to assessing Return on Investment (ROI) of a college. Based on that, you must take a decision.
-Quality of Education
An institute’s reputation is built on the quality of education it imparts. And top Indian MBA institutes are at par with International or B-Schools abroad. Both have excellent courses lined up for the students who get admitted to their colleges. But colleges abroad are more focused towards giving practical training whereas Indian universities are still coming up with ways to introduce practical approaches more effectively.
-Placements
Finally, the one for which you have decided to do MBA, placements or job opportunities that a college offers to its students. In India, the bigger the name of the institute, the bigger the salary offer their students take home from college placements. But in foreign institutes, this is not the case. They do not guarantee jobs post the course. They intend on making an individual ready for industry exposure and you are supposed to go out and look for jobs yourself.
Keeping all these factors, your objectives, and your budget in mind, make a wise decision and choose the best college for yourself!
