 Sariska
Sariska lies in the Alwar district at a distance of 107km from Jaipur (2hrs19mins). The park is spread over an area of 800 sq km. Sariska tiger reserve is the first-ever tiger reserve where the relocation and rehabilitation of the tigers have been carried out successfully. Sariska tiger reserve is home to the largest population of peafowl apart from its natural attraction of housing the Royal Bengal tiger. Siliserh Lake on the edge of the park has a large number of crocodiles. Both Jeep and canter safari vehicle rentals are available in Sariska. Apart from being rich in flora and fauna, Sariska treasures the ruins of the 11th century ‘Garh-Rajor’ temple, 17th-century ‘Kankwari’ fort on the hill which offers a stunning view of soaring vultures and eagles. Bharatpur
Bharatpur lies at a distance of 184km from Jaipur (3-4hours). Bharatpur is also called Keoladeo Ghana National Park named after the old Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. There are three options to take a safari; Elephant safari, Jeep safari or rickshaw. October – February happens to be the best time to see the migratory birds from Siberia and Central Asia.
