IMI Kolkata was established in 1981 and was considered to be India’s first corporate sponsored business School and was set up in coordination with IMI Geneva. It also has an academic collaboration with Francois Rabelais University , where by the top 5-7 students of IMI have the opportunity to attend classes for a month at University of Tours during the 5th semester. Hence students have the opportunity of earning both a PGDM from IMI and an MSC in Business Administration (specilisation in service marketing) from the university IIE- Tours.

To be considered for IMI Kolkata Admission candidates need to have a degree with 50% aggregate marks and entrance scores of CAT, XAT, or GMAT. As a part of the selection process, they need to appear for the Written Ability Test ( WAT) and Personal interview . Final selection will depend not only on the overall scores but the written and spoken communication skills of the candidate as well.

IMI Kolkata Fees is INR 12, 40,000 including the tution fee, text/ reading material, student welfare, library fee, life membership of Alumni association, computer fee and refundable security deposit of INR 15,000. The hostel accommodation charges are additional and need to be remitted separately. Students can avail of educational loan facility towards payment of these fees. Eligible candidates can also apply for scholarship opportunities which are extended to deserving candidates on a case-to- case basis.

The total program fees including hostel charges for single AC room is INR 16,00,900, for a twin sharing AC room is 15,20,900 and for an executive room is INR 16,70,900.

The recruitment process is handled by the placement Cell which acts as a dedicated interface for enhancing corporate academic and industry interface. The list of recruiters and companies where students have worked as interns include, IMRB, Berger, PWC , Yes Bank, ITC, JSW among others.
