Doubloon! Takes Young Readers On An Outdoor Adventure
1888PressRelease - Brothers in Bruce Rougraff’s new book unearth a 200-year-old mystery amidst a beachy backdrop.
INDIANAPOLIS – Vacationers expect to have fun in the sun on a beach trip. But on their first tropical vacation to a pristine southwest Florida barrier island, nine-year-old Tommy and his older brother Auggie experience something unique: buried pirate treasure. And that’s just the beginning of the adventure that awaits them in Bruce Rougraff’s new book Doubloon!, a juvenile fiction chapter book geared towards readers ages 8 to 12.
After unearthing the treasure, Doubloon! follows the brothers as their family is haunted by a series of strange mishaps around the island. To get to the bottom of the connection between the pirate stash and the unsettling events taking place, Tommy and Auggie set out to learn the truth behind their find. Thanks to the help of a friendly local, they meet a reclusive, old fisherman, who helps them solve the mystery and understand the real power of the treasure.
“The brothers always fantasized about finding buried treasure, so uncovering the hidden goods is exciting ...
... in itself. But the unexpected consequences that stem from their discovery and the true meaning of the treasure are what really make this story a gripping tale,” says Rougraff. “As the book follows the boys on their journey of discovery, I hope it inspires readers to never give up in their own quests, no matter what they’re after.”
Filled with an unforgettable cast of characters – including tortoises, dolphins, manatees, pelicans and ospreys – who aid the boys in solving the mystery, this debut fantasy book by Rougraff is a great escape that will keep young readers turning the pages until the very end.
Doubloon! is available in hardcover, paperback and ebook formats. It can be purchased online through SDP Publishing and at all major bookstores, including Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other retailers. For more information about the author, visit https://doubloonthebook.com/.
