Northern Belle’s every car is named after a different English castle and everycar is subtly unique, with individual colors applied to the seat upholstery and carpets, and their own marquetry designs, provided by a family firm with over a century’s lineage. The cars are actually re-engineered models of older trains, convincing replicas of the pre-war lookers for which the Orient Express is justly famed. In general, they have a lighter design than the cars used on the Venice Simplon Orient Express. Apparently, they are fitted out with 800-year-old oak panels, inset with walnut, boxwood, anagre, satinwood, and maple.
