Most of the time, spotting is more often than not considered a normal part of the menstrual cycle. However it can be a little scary when you observe that you have been experiencing spotting over a prolonged period of time. The good thing is that during normal spotting issues, most of the panty liners brands will able to deal with it with ease.

However, if the spotting is happening in such a manner that it is making you consider using woman’s pads like XL sanitary pads, and then it might be time to visit the doctor. We understand that spotting is a much lighter version of the heavy periods, but we also understand that if it is something that happens a little too frequently and is continuing to happen for long, then it will concern any one. There might be a few reasons as to why this is happening:

Endometriosis
Endometriosis can be described as a disease that might make the body produce extra uterine tissues in other place apart from the uterus including the ovaries and sometimes even the fallopian tubes as ...
... well. The issue arises as your body is not able to remove these issues on its own, and as a result it ends up causing discomfort in the body. Another problem that woman with Endometriosis might face is pain in the pelvis area. This pain might also occur when one is using the loo.

If you are also someone one who has been facing irregular flow during your menstrual cycle along with regular spotting then endometriosis might just be the reason why!

Hormonal Changes
Since the whole menstrual cycle is a hormonal game, the chances that spotting might occur are always there. However the hormonal issue are mostly high during the very start of your menstrual age, i.e. when puberty hits. Other than that hormonal issues also peak during the end of your menstrual life, i.e. during the menopause stage.

This is basically due to the fact that in the beginning stages of your menstrual cycle, your body takes time to adjust to the changing hormones in the body. This might lead you to facing issues like spotting. This might happen till the time your body is able to manage the circle better. Now let’s talk about menopause. The irregularities that one might observe during this time can essentially be credited to the thickening of the uterine wall.

PCOS:
Another major reason for continuous spotting might be PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome. This is another issue that is caused due to hormonal imbalance. There are many things that could happen when you have PCOS. Irregularities in the menstrual cycle are merely one of them. Some of the major symptoms of PCOS are hair thinning, sudden spouting of acne, excessive growth of body hair, cysts in ovaries. PCOS is another reason for irregular spotting that occurs frequently.

Remember if you are being faced with regular spotting issues that does not seem to get resolved then it is always better to visit a doctor as soon as possible.
