This process basically allows you to research tags specifically for you account and grow your Instagram account pretty quickly.
This process may take a bit of your time researching a few hashtags but it will pay off for sure and you only need to do this once.
Step I –
Make a list of all the hashtags related to your niche. You can easily think of a few hashtags and look at the related hashtags and list them all. Even list all your competitors’ hashtags because you will need a few sets of hashtags for your account.

Visit each hashtag and calculate the average likes of the top 9 posts in the respective hashtag on Instagram.
It’s quite simple, calculate the total likes of top 9 posts in that hashtags and divide it by 9, do this for each hashtag you will find yourself with a list like this one.
Step 3 –
Once you make a list of Instagram hashtags and their average likes, the question arises which ones should you use for your page.
You need to look at your recent posts and see what number of likes are you getting on each post.
Suppose, you get around 2000 likes on each post, then you should try to rank in the hashtags with 1500-3000 likes. The infographic below will make it clear.

Step 4 –
Let’s talk about the number of hashtags that you should be using with your posts.
• Use around 10-12 hashtags wherein you have the highest chances of ranking
• 6 – 8 of those hashtags where it’s hard to rank in but you might just rank in
• 3 – 4 Instagram hashtags where you won’t have a chance to rank in but still use them coz you never know you might get lucky.
• You need to use a combination of all these low to high-level hashtags because if you rank in low-level hashtags, your post will eventually get more engagement that will act as a boost for your post and that might help you to rank in mid-level hashtag and furthermore, may trigger your post to rank even in high-level hashtag if you get lucky.
All this requires a wee bit of work but if you do it correctly surely it will help your brand to grow and isn’t that we all aim for.
