Rio de Janeiro is considered to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world thanks to its numerous joyful activities that are being held here besides the usual ingredients that made Rio famous, like the Carnival, the most exquisite beaches in the entire world, incredible nightlife, lovely scenery, friendly people and many more of these advantages which we will let you discover for yourself. With this article we will offer you a small review of some of the most important events that will occur in Rio this May.

On the 1st of May, the city of Rio de Janeiro will celebrate Labor's Day - a day dedicated to workers that celebrate their great achievements throughout history. The day is celebrated in many countries around the world and Brazil is no exception as it will celebrate it at various areas in the city. Also on the first day of the month and the second, Rio will hold the Orchids In The Garden exhibition which will be held under the Flowers Of May theme. On the 8th of the month, Rio de Janeiro celebrates the Victory Day which is homage to the Unknown Soldier. On this day, military ceremonies commemorating the anniversary of the Allied Victory in WW2 will be presided over by the President of the Republic. The venue for this important historical event will be Aterro do Flamengo - Av. Infante Dom Henrique, s/nº - Flamengo. Between 10 and 14 of May, the Health Level Seven International (HL7) will hold an international working group meeting which will gather 34 countries together with the ISO-TC215 Committee to adopt the standards for interoperability of health information technology internationally.

Moving on to something a little more cheerful, between 12-16 of May, Goal Promoções will organize the Brides And Parties Expo 2010. The event will be the home of products and services dealing with weddings as well as wedding anniversaries, company receptions and 15th birthday celebrations. Besides all of these, there will be held various fashion shows along with free mini courses and an artistic cake exhibition. The venue for the event will be at Riocentro - GL Events Centro de Convenções - Av. Salvador Allende, 6.555 - Pavilhões 1, 2, 3 and 4 - Jacarepaguá. An art exhibition will be held between 20 and 21 of May at Museu de Arte Moderna - MAM - Av. Infante Dom Henrique, 85 - Parque Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes - Aterro do Flamengo.

As you can see from the first part of our article, there are many events which will be held in May in 2010, just like any other month of the year, to prove once again that Rio de Janeiro is the city where people never go to sleep, something is always happening making boredom: an extinct word.
