Why You Should Brush Your Teeth Morning And Night?

With the abundance of mouthwashes, mouth sprays and mouth fresheners in the market today, some people have started to substitute these products in place of regular tooth brushing. However, no amount of expensive mouthwash can replicate brushing the teeth. Below are the top reasons why you need to brush your teeth in the morning and at night no matter your age.
• Prevents bacteria buildup. Bacteria is constantly being produced in the mouth in short periods of time. When brushing twice a day, you destroy bacteria in the mouth and keep it clean. Bacteria left in the mouth for a whole day can damage the tooth enamel, leading to the weakening of gums and tooth decay. Removal of bacteria also means removal of unpleasant breath.
• Promotes saliva production. Saliva adds an extra layer of defense against bacteria and plaque in the mouth, saving your from harmful cavities. Saliva production is active during the day, but becomes less active during sleep. By brushing ...

• Prevents tartar buildup. Plaque that is not removed from the tooth surface becomes tartar, which is impossible to remove unless done by your dentist. When left untreated, tartar can lead to bad gum infections that can cause excessive bleeding and damage in overall health. If you are diabetic or smoke cigarettes, you are at a higher risk of forming tartar compared to the average person.
• Protects gums. Brushing your teeth is more than just keeping them clean and polished; more importantly, it also protects you from potentially serious health issues. Bacteria, plaque and tartar can be detrimental to the health. Toothbrushing can be very effective in protecting the teeth and gums for as long as it is done properly.
• Improves overall health. With the growing number of research available today, experts are discovering the numerous diseases that are linked to oral diseases. Bad oral health can lead to serious diseases like diabetes, osteoporosis, heart diseases, premature birth and low birth weight babies.
By properly brushing your teeth, you can be assured of beautiful and healthy teeth and gums. Of course, brushing your teeth in the morning and at night should not just be your sole oral care practice; it is also just as important to floss at least once daily, and visit your dentist every six months.
