As soon as the thought of traveling to a new destination comes to your mind, several positive thoughts fill up your heart. Unfortunately, vacationing around the world has also become a contest. You cannot go anywhere around the globe without facing the comparison from your peers and family. Nonetheless, it is better to stay out of such contests and enjoy travel for what it is.

Ignore with a smile

As soon as you realize that a friend or a colleague is turning a healthy discussion about a vacation into a comparison, just pass a friendly smile and change the topic. If the other person is adamant at comparing what they did on their vacation to what you did on yours, you cannot help but leave the place.

Your idea of a vacation

You may want to do something on your holiday, while someone else may want to go completely the opposite way. Some people like to relax in the hotel, have a slow vacation, and do almost nothing. On the other hand, there are travelers who are highly energetic and want to make the most of each and every ...
... moment at hand. They don’t mind feeling extremely tired at the end of the day throughout their holiday. They would take just a day or two to relax, and they spend rest of the time visiting one place or the other.

Spending money

Someone may spend all their savings in just one vacation and behave like nothing happened. And there are people who are highly calculated in how much they spend on each vacation. They don’t want to vanish all their savings in a few days, and plan for their future holidays as well. Self-Drive Car Rental in Pune, for instance, may cost more than the public transport, but it is up to you if you want to spend money for luxury or travel the tough way and feel good about it.

Go deep

Indians, and people in many countries, do not get much support from their companies or governments in terms of holidaying. People from Russia, for example, find the opportunity to spend a few months in new countries and delve deep into the cultures they have never experienced. When you truly experience a place, meet with the locals, and try to communicate with them in their language, it is then that you will experience the true spirit of travel. Nonetheless, you may not find much time beyond a week or two for your vacations, which makes it difficult to go deep and you can only touch the surface of every city or village your visit. Again, there is nothing wrong with it.

Any of these ways of traveling is right or wrong. Different people have different lives and way of living. We must not comment on their methodology of doing things. If you like spending money, it should not bother you if your friends do not do the same, or vice versa. Different people mindset is as like as chalk and cheese, which is the beauty of being different. Try and refrain from indulging in those unsaid contest where everyone tries to even out the other person. Just enjoy travel for what it is- a means to unwind and experience the world.
