Microsoft Outlook saves all its information, such as, e-mails, calendar/journal entries, appointments, tasks, notes, and more in a .pst file. The data saved in this file can be exported, imported, deleted, compacted, backed up as per the requirements of an Outlook user. While deletion of data from a PST file can be performed manually, there are various situations when the data automatically deletes from the PST file. This generally happens when the file gets corrupted due to a virus attack. In most of these situations, the deleted data does not move to 'Deleted Items' folder, making it permanently inaccessible for the Outlook user. To access deleted data in such situations, the user needs to restore data from an updated backup. However, in the absence of an up-to-date backup or backup falling short of restoring the data, the user needs to opt for an advanced third-party Deleted Email Recovery application.

To illustrate the above scenario, consider a practical situation wherein you log into your MS Outlook account and view the following:

1)All your e-mails after ...
... a particular date (for eg. 15th December 2009) have been deleted.
2)All your Contacts are also missing.

In addition, you do not find either of the above in the 'Deleted Items' folder of your MS Outlook. These emails and contacts get deleted without any warning message.

Cause:

The root cause for deletion of missing mails and contacts is severe virus attack.

Resolution:

To resolve the above problem and to access deleted e-mails and contacts, you will need to follow the below mentioned steps:

1.Copy the deleted data from an updated and valid backup.
2.But, in the absence of backup or backup restoring deficient information, use a commercial Deleted Email Recovery software.

Such Deleted Mail Recovery utilities use effective scanning and recovery techniques that scan the PST file to recover deleted data. Competent in recovering almost all deleted data, the recovery utilities are built with Outlook-style interface, which makes them easy-to-understand, and does not require any prior technical knowledge.

Stellar Phoenix Deleted Email Recovery is a safe utility that comprehensively recoups almost all deleted PST file items, such as, e-mails, contacts, and more. Compatible with almost all versions of MS Outlook, including 2007, 2003, 2002, and 2000, the Deleted Mail Recovery software is designed for Windows 7, Vista, 2003, XP, and 2000.
