It becomes difficult to choose the right Yoga Style because there are many styles that are there to practice. However, as a beginner, it can be hard to select a variety of yoga that is specific to you. The best option is to try different styles and find out which one benefits you in terms of health, fitness, and spiritual as well as physical goals. Practicing yoga has become essential in today's lifestyle to improve your overall health.
I have been practicing yoga for over nine years now, initially taking it up to develop my adaptability. I was continually feeling tense and sore and undergoing lower back pain. This is probably from unsupervised workouts at the gym, and someone advised that yoga might help.
Over the years, I have regularly practice Ashtanga and, most recently, Vinyasa yoga. Still, when someone recently recommended Iyengar yoga and told me about AYM’s website, I was keen to find out more. I like the site, and I decide to try my hand at Iyengar yoga and attend a Yoga Teacher Training.
When I arrive at AYM, I found the environment was very calm, and the people I met were very welcoming. The teacher, ...
... Yogi Chetan Mahesh, paid great attention to the detail of the postures. After attending the training, I feel that I was in very safe and experienced hands. Also, I'd been doing a new routine at the gym and was feeling quite stiff when I arrived. But, in the end, all the stiffness and soreness have gone, and I feel a real sense of well-being.
I tried Iyengar yoga before or what was supposed to be Iyengar yoga. But on reflection, the class was nothing likes the AYM's class. And, I'm not sure that the teacher was adequately qualified. Having also previously done Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga at other places. I found the skill of the teacher much more evident at the Institute. I understand from the conversation with peoples, that teachers have to train for several years before they teach classes.
There were quite a few other differences at the Institute compared to my previous yoga experiences. For instance, at the Institute, the content of the classes varies according to factors like age and experience. There's much use of props, and teachers are 'hands-on' in terms of adjustments and corrections to individuals. Also, postures are held for much longer, and I could feel the effect of this deep into my muscles. However, the main difference is that Iyengar yoga is a holistic and spiritual experience, engaging the mind and the body. Indeed the founder of this form of yoga, B.K.S. Iyengar, stated that "Health is a state of the whole composition of the mind, body, and spirit," and this value is reflected in the Iyengar form of yoga.
If you are serious about yoga and looking to deepen your practice in India, the Institute is the ideal place. The venue is easy to reach, the studio is dedicated to yoga, and the teachers are unrivaled in their experience. On top of that, there are lots of classes throughout the whole week for people of different ages, abilities, and circumstances. The pricing structure is also very reasonable.
