Needless to say, these are some of the most iconic logos in the world. You just read their name and boom! You get an image of their logo in your head that very instant. These brands are so iconic that even little kids know about them and recognize them. All this is because their logo has a memorable and lasting impact on the audience.
Like these brands, your logo should leave the same lasting impact on your audience as well. Your logo should be designed in a way that it should be easily recognizable, unique (preferably better ... wayyy better) from your competitors, and last but not least, it should be visually appealing and should entice the consumers and people towards your business.
The logo is important, but its placement is even more important. Designers must think calculatedly about how and where they are going to place the logo, and they should also keep the golden triangle in mind so that it remains visually attractive across any type of medium, be it the electronic media or the custom logo embroidered uniforms. If you want your logo to be as iconic and strong as the logos of Nike, McDonald’s, Apple, ...
... and the others, start by avoiding these 3 costly mistakes.


1. Avoid thin lines and complex detailing

We often see brands incorporating very complex detailing when designing their logo. Those intricate details may look amazing on the social and electronic media, but trust me, they turn out really bad when you have them embroidered onto your company uniforms, accessories, and apparel. The thin lines can easily become distorted and ruin your custom logo embroidered apparel, accessories, and uniforms beyond repair. You might not even want to have embroidered uniforms as yet and may just be a start-up, but think about it; you might need your logo to be embroidered in the future. Let's say you start a small business in Anchorage, and you get a very complexed logo made, which looks really good on social media. You run your business online and it gets successful. Now you need to expand. You browse through the best logo embroidery services in Anchorage and go and choose one. But when the time arrives for embroidering your brand logo onto your uniforms and apparel, your logos will turn out really really bad. At that moment, you’ll realize what a mistake you have made by going for a complex logo which is not embroidery friendly. 2. Avoid too many colors

Logos are the identity of your company/brand, which is why they shouldn’t just be in either black or white. Your logos can and should be in the other colors as well. But remember, like the saying goes, “too much of a good thing is a bad thing,” likewise too much color will definitely ruin your logo. Remember the examples of the logos I gave you guys earlier? If not, the big brand I mentioned were Nike, McDonald’s , Facebook, Target, Chanel, Apple, and etc. All these have colored logos (Nike has, it in black and white and many others). The beauty is in the simplicity and by not overloading the logo with too many colors. Try to go for a maximum of 3 colors when designing your logo. Using more colors will just ruin the embroidery process and make your logo look like a cake instead of a logo of a refined business or brand.

3. Avoid shadings, reflections, and shadows

Reflections, shadings, and shows look amazing in an image. They give the image that artistic touch and finesse. They make a regular Joe image look extra-ordinary and refined. But the thing is you simply can’t add shadings, reflections and shadows in a logo.Not that you can’t, your logo would look immaculate on the electronic media, but how are you going to get them embroidered on your apparel and uniforms? It is extremely difficult to give shading reflections and etc. using threads. One mistake and the whole logo looks bad. So it’s better to play it safe and skip the shadings and stuff for the non-logo stuff.

Designing an amazing logo can help to define you and your brand in the most positive ways possible. However, before you start designing, you need to think it through and brainstorm what you want with your logo and where you want it to appear. You don’t need a Mona Lisa on your logo for it to be good. Just keep it simple and avoid these mistakes and you will surely design that perfect logo of yours.
