For kids who are Indians but are raised abroad due to their parents’ job (especially in the Middle East), it is a very common thing and scenario that they go for an Indian school franchise only. This is because, although the parents are far away from their native place, from their homeland, they really do want the kids to be aware of the Indian values and education system. It is like they want to give their children a home away from home. Therefore, 90 percent of Indian expats in the middle east, enroll their children in an Indian CBSE school franchise only. This way, they are always in touch with the education system, and when they shift to the country for their further studies, they do not feel out of place and can then relate to the syllabus that is being taught. Therefore, all Indian school franchise over there have the CBSE board only. This is because it is a mandate by the Indian government rules that any Indian school that is being set up across the borders of the nation, has to follow the CBSE curriculum only.
CBSE is the Central Board of Secondary Education which comes directly under the Ministry Human Resource ...
... Development of India and is headed by the HRD minister. Of course, when it comes to looking for options within the country itself, then there are many franchise options in India that follow various kinds of boards. Each state has their own board of education, then there is the ICSE board (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education), and then of course, as discussed above, there is the CBSE. However, the most popular board of all is going to remain the CBSE board. If you are parents who are looking to enroll their children into any of the Indian school franchise within the country, which follows any of the board, then there might be chances that you will be left confused as to what board to choose for your child.
The most appealing seems to be the CBSE board, since it comes directly under the government and there are no big chances of monopoly in it. However, like any other board, there did come a time in 2010-11 when the board exams for class 10 had become optional for the students. Students could choose whether or not they want to appear for the board exams or not. If not, they would have to appear for the written exam paper set by the school.
The maximum marks of the papers for written exams had come down to 80 from 100 because the government wanted to lessen the burden already weighing hard on the students. The left over 20 marks would be for internal assessments which were done through some group and individual projects, which would in a way help in raising the interest of the children in such educational activities. These amendments are done by the boards time and again to revive the interest of students in studies. For more information visit https://www.podarsmarterschools.com/
