Glyphosate was synthesized and brought to market by Monsanto in 1974 as the active ingredient of its new weed-killer, Roundup. In the decades that followed, the use of Roundup and other glyphosate-containing weed-killers exploded. This was mostly due to the introduction of genetically modified, glyphosate-resistant Roundup-Ready crops such as soy, corn, and wheat, that enabled farmers to kill weeds without killing their crops.

Several studies have now shown a link between Roundup exposure and development of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL). The International Agency for the Research of Cancer (IARC), an agency of the World Health Organization, has classified glyphosate as probably carcinogenic to humans. What’s most concerning is that a recent analysis performed by The Alliance for Natural Health USA found glyphosate residues in food products where it was never intended to be, such as breakfast cereals, coffee creamer and eggs. One of the reasons why the herbicide was widely publicized as safe was its rapid biodegradability. However, if glyphosate residues are present in such alarming levels in the food we eat and the ...
... water we drink, it means that we are all potentially exposed to it and its harmful effects.

Individuals most at risk for developing health issues are farm workers and other individuals with workplace exposure to the herbicide, such as employees in garden centers, nurseries, and landscapers. However, anyone who uses Roundup is at potential risk. People are exposed to glyphosate mostly by coming in contact with it during mixing, use, or cleanup, but also by breathing it while spraying.

Our law firm represents a large number of plaintiffs suffering from NHL after exposure to Roundup. Success in cases of this nature is critically dependent on the strength of the scientific evidence and expert testimony presented to the court and the jury. We are pleased to announce that our attorney, Dr. Tara Tabatabaie, a former scientist, has been a critical member of the team of select few attorneys developing the scientific evidence for the nation-wide Roundup litigation. Dr. Tabatabaie’s extensive scientific expertise, together with the many years of experience of our other attorneys in cases against large corporations, is a true asset to our clients.

So far, the cases of four California residents have gone to trial in California, all resulting in jury verdicts in favor of the plaintiffs. The sheer sizeof the verdicts against Monsanto in those cases reflected the degree of the juries’ disapproval of Monsanto’s conduct: the first trial resulted in a $280 million verdict against Monsanto. Of this verdict, $279 million dollars was allocated to punitive damages. In the second trial, the jury awarded plaintiff $80 million. The jury verdict in the third trial, with a husband a wife both suffering from NHL as plaintiffs, was just announced with a landmark verdict of $2 billion of punitive damages against Monsanto. Monsanto, and its parent company, Bayer, have announced that they will appeal these verdicts. And while those verdicts were later reduced by the courts, the message from the juries in these trials has been loud and clear: Monsanto can no longer escape responsibility for exposing millions of individuals to a dangerous, cancer-causing product.

If you or a loved one has been exposed to glyphosate or Roundup and have been diagnosed with NHL, we’re here to help. Let our team of experts represent you and hold Monsanto responsible for their actions. All initial consultations are free, and we don’t charge any up-front fees for representation. Know more...
