Know About Nayara Energy’s Gramshiksha Initiative

Gramshiksha is an overarching education program for the age groups of 6-35 years in 15 villages of the Devbhumi Dwarka district. The programme aims to improve the grading of the schools, thereby bringing all of them to the A category (at par with the grading by Gujarat Government). We have also taken it upon us to ensure that by 2025, all the children below 25 years have completed their 10th Std. More than 4000 children across these 15 villages are now a part of the programme. Through our multiple interventions viz. Gramshiksha centres, NIOS classes, SMART classes, libraries, scholarships, remedial classes, etc., a recent impact assessment reported 88% of these students achieving multi-grade level competencies.

Neetaba Mansang Jadeja (35 years) is unlike any other woman in the Mithoi village in Devbhumi Dwarka district. She is one of the rare few who picked up textbooks after 22 long years and worked hard towards completing her 12th standard that too along with her daughter. ... the same reason left her truly disheartened. Nayara Energy’s Gramshikha project gave her much needed ray of hope. Both mother and daughter enrolled themselves for NIOS classes. Regular classes along with the support of the trainers helped them achieve their dream.

Today, Neetaba is mentoring other women in the community. Like her, many other women are emerging too and feeling empowered to lead a life that they only dreamt of.
