Situated in Jerusalem, Masjid Al-Aqsa was the Qibla-e-Awal (First Qibla) for Muslims before The Hoy Kaabah was Built. It dates back to thousands of years. Muslims used to offer all their prayers in the direction of Masjid ...
... Al-Aqsa. Until, Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) while receiving a revelation during a prayer session in the Masjid al-Qiblatayn, shifted the direction of Qibla to Holy Kaabah in Makkah. Ever since Holy Kaabah is the only Qibla for Muslims.

The entire site of the Masjid sits alongside the Dome of the Rock. The 4 Minarets and the 17 Gates; the wider area is referred to as “Al-Haram ash-Sharif” or “The Noble Sanctuary”.

In Islam, it has been narrated that, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), on the journey of ‘Miraj’, were transferred to Al-Aqsa from Makkah on Buraq. He (PBUH), tethered Buraq to the Western Wall, took a stay there and led all the Prophets that have come to this world in prayer. After which he (PBUH), with Jibril (AS) travelled to Heavens to meet Allah Almighty.

2. Masjid Al-Haram

Surrounding the Holy Kaabah, Masjid Al-Haram is situated in Makkah, Saudia Arabia. Makkah is the Birthplace of our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) and where he first started preaching the message of Islam. This is the holiest site on earth for Muslims.
