Apply the gel from an aloe vera plant on to the ringworm patch three to four times daily. The gel is a very effective remedy in case of burning sensation, soothe itchy, swollen skin as it has cooling properties.
Coconut oil — Certain fatty acids found in coconut oil may kill fungal cells by damaging their cell membranes. It was noticed that coconut oil may be an effective remedy for people with mild to moderate skin infections. Use it to treat ringworm by applying liquid coconut oil to the skin three times daily that will help to smooth the skin, heal the cracked skin, reduce burning sensation, dryness, etc. You can also use coconut oil as moisturizing lotion, and apply it after having a bath.
Turmeric — Turmeric is considered as a popular spice with anti-inflammatory properties. A part of turmeric known as curcumin is believed to responsible for the spices health benefits. Consume turmeric as a home remedy in a tea form or add it to meals to reap its benefits. For topical application, mix it with a small amount of water or coconut oil until it forms a paste and applies this to the skin. Leave it to dry before wiping off. The paste is very effective to treat the condition of skin infections.
Tea tree oil — Tea tree oil is used as an effective remedy for many bacterial and fungal conditions for almost a century. Make a 2 percent dilution of tea tree oil by mixing 10–12 drops of essential oil with 1 ounce of coconut oil. Apply this to the skin three times daily. Tea tree oil also helps to boost immunity, which can be helpful in preventing initial infections and re-infections of Candida and other fungi.
Garlic — Garlic is often used to treat many infections. It has proven effective in fungal infections also. To use garlic as a treatment, make a paste of crushed garlic cloves by blending the garlic with some coconut or olive oil. Apply a thin layer of paste to the affected skin and cover with a gauze. Leave that place for at least 2 hours and then rinse with normal water. Repeat twice daily until the symptoms resolve. When some fungal infections found under the nail bed, which is hard to reach, applying crushed garlic is the best treatment.
Neem leaf extracts — Neem leaves have been considered to be the ultimate antifungal and natural detoxifier in India for hundreds of years. The extract of the neem is capable of removing major pathogens and dermophytes from your skin. For the treatment of fungal infection, boil the neem leaves in water for a few minutes, wash the infected area using that water for 2–3 times daily.
Yogurt — When treating yeast infections, a plain yogurt with active cultures will reduce the growth of fungi. Yogurt contains a large amount of probiotics, which are bacteria that line your digestive tract and help your body’s ability to absorb vital nutrients and combat infection.
Papaya — Papaya contains enzymes, which are very effective to kill the micro-organisms, fungi causing the condition of ringworm. Papaya can be used as a home remedy via rub a freshly cut slice of the raw papaya on the infected area for about 10–15 minutes and wash it with normal water. It will reduce the patches, burning sensation, heal the cracked skin, etc.
